When Life Doesn't Go Your Way

by - February 10, 2019

There have been times when I asked God for something, but He didn't give it to me.

Have you had those times?

Today, I'd like to encourage you with the theme of my novel, A Candle in the Window:

God is in control. He knows what is best, even when it doesn't appear that way at the time.

Today, I'd like to share a time of my life where God has said "no," and that ended up being the best answer after all.

This past March, I was in a play. I really, really wanted to be assigned the part of Mrs. Vins.

God said no, but gave me a better part—a part I would prefer over that one.

I was a Reader. There were several readers, plus the Old Man (or Old Woman, in our case). I made a new friend, and I had an amazing time with the group of Readers.

The main point I'm trying to make here is this: God said “no” to what I wanted and gave me something better—a role that impacted my life.

I wrote an article about it, which I submitted to TheRebelution. I posted the article on my writing community in order to get some feedback, and the other writers loved it! It was so encouraging.

If God hadn't said no to something I really wanted Him to say yes to, I wouldn't have written that article at all or as well. And that was the beginning of several articles published.

So I praise God for answering the way He thought best. It really was the best decision, even though at first I was a little disappointed about being a Reader.

I would gladly play that part again!

In conclusion, trust God. It might not be easy, but it is definitely best. I've learned to trust God in the midst of disappointmentssuch as not getting my
prose or poem published on a website. God didn't want me to get those published at that time. Why? I don't know, but I do know this:

I can trust Him.

let’s chat!

So what about you? What have you gone through that ended up being the best decision after all? I'd LOVE to hear about it, so be sure to drop a comment below, and I will reply!
